Well said Derrick!

Actually, I do remember the sermon I heard on the Lord's day. It hit like a 2x4, and I was glad to hear it. making sermon review a regular part of family worship helps in this matter.

I so much appreciate your transparency! That really makes it easier to hear a teacher, when he can put himself in the message, along with everyone else. This does not diminish the need to preach authoritatively. The word is God's word. However, it is good to see His messengers acknowledge that they too have "not yet attained, nor are made perfect..."

Your message to be joyful s very pertinent, and I share your experience.

It is good to see how the Lord is fashioning you into a vessel "fit for noble purposes"!

Yours in Christ,

Amen, Pastor! To be completely honest, I *almost* forgot, but not completely. I remembered driving home thinking, "Wow. All that from two verses. Awesome." Today when seeing this post I was racking my brain thinking "What were those two verses!" Haha.

I'm with you though - It's so difficult to constantly bring into submission every thought to the obedience of Christ, but it's something that must be done.

I praise God for the sound teaching that comes from the Calvary FPC pulpit! May He continue to be glorified, and may we continue to rejoice at the faithful promises in His Word!
